If you are allergic to gold or still worried email before ordering.
Titanium
Grade Ti6AL-4V Titanium in compliance with implant specification BS 7252 Part 3.
Titanium is the safest metal available for sensitive skin, especially for anyone allergic to nickel, silver or gold. It is used for surgical implants and the earrings are the same medical grade. Allergic reactions to titanium are almost unheard of.
These earrings are available in polished titanium, which looks like silver or platinum and also in anodised colours. Anodising is an electrochemical process which causes the surface of the metal to change colour, there are no other materials added and there is no plating or painting.
Titanium has been used since the 1950's for medical implants and is used for initial and healed body piercings.
Black PVD Titanium
Black PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating is applied onto Titanium after the products are ultrasonically cleaned and placed in a high vacuum coating chamber. The surfaces are then atomically cleaned at high vacuum by high energy plasma generated by ionising gas and target materials. Active gases are then introduced to produce a coating plasma in conjunction with multiple target sources.
Black PVD is suitable for initial and healed piercings and is in compliance with the EU Nickel Directive.
